Then I found a dandelion that had gone to seed - got it just before the wind blew the seeds away for nature to replant them.
Ruins at Fort Laramie, Wyoming
Visiting Fort Laramie - used as a trading post, Fort for the Army, and Pony Express Way Station. The pioneers used this Fort to get new supplies but the last handcart pioneers didn't find any supplies because it was so late in the season.
Tree along the trail - I asked it to tell me the story but as you can see it doesn't have much life in it. It was a beautiful setting - if only the rocks and trees could tell the story.
Sister Starr standing in one of the Guernsey ruts. I continue to be amazed at the fortitude of the pioneers who settled the west from Salt Lake, California, Oregon and the Pony Express.
We spent the day with Jim and Ola Mae Williams (Elder & Sister Williams) at the Rut area. Notice the depth of the ruts through the rocks.
East of Casper Wyoming about 1 1/2 hours there is an area called Guernsey and there are Ruts through the rocks that were carved by the wagons and handcarts going along the trail. This is one of the memorials to the area.
