This monument says it all. Notice the monument is to the people of the second rescue. This is in honor of the Riverton Wyoming Stake who researched the records of the pioneers and accomplished all the Temple work for those who died on the trail. The first rescue was the wagons of food from the Salt Lake Valley to rescue the pioneers on the high plains. The second rescue completed the temple work in honor of those who gave their all.

Rock Creek Hollow - the creek upstream from the foot bridge. The reason it is called Rock Creek Hollow is because there are rock hills surrounding the little hollow that offered protection to the pioneers.
Snow drift on the 27th of May 2011 at Rock Creek Hollow. This drift is about 15 ft high, 30 ft deep and the full length of the hill above the river.

Sister Fenn at the top of Rocky Ridge - taking a moment just to take in the magnitude of the country - the strength of the missionaries as they come along the trail and the history that took place here. The Willie Handcart People were freezing, starving, and running out of options at this point - and yet they continuted on to follow their prophet and new faith.

Two lonely handcarts at the top or Rocky Ridge - signifying the end of a very long pull up a difficult trail for the Willie Handcart People. It took over 24 hours to pull this five mile part of the trail because of the weather conditions. Another example of courage and faith.

Another new calf. Love the brown ones - they have huge brown eyes and they look so innocent.

One morning on our way into the Visitor's Center we took the old road the the cattle were grazing with their new calves. It was a beautiful sight so I took some picture memories
