TRAINING

Yesterday we had the most amazing training meeting. All of the first year missionaries from the Martin and Willie Handcart sites gathered together and received training from our "Mission President" - which is a Director here - Elder Fenn and his wife are our directors. He counseled us to live our lives so that the Holy Ghost could direct our efforts for good and promised that because we are serving our families would be blessed. I remember feeling those missionary blessings each time we had a missionary serving - the blessings were so strong in our family as our son's served their missions. Now it is our turn to serve and allow those blessings to reach our children and their families.
Today all the first year missionaries were on work crew - we stretched out for two miles and cleaned up the highway near the visitor's center. It is an "adopt a highway" program. The wind blew very hard - we all looked like we were dressed for winter with so many clothes on we could hardly bend over to pick up trash - but it was great to be out there with our new friends and we learned so much from them.

We are having an incredible time visiting family and friends as we travel to Wyoming. Currently we are visiting with Rick and his family. We have seen Bill & Bonnie, Dennis & Kara, Ashley & Sydney, Kevin & Cathy, and now Rick and his family. It is stormy and rainy - typical spring weather for the Salt Lake area but I would really love to see some sunshine.
We do love our family and enjoy your support in our endeavors.

April 18th - we are heading out on our journey to Wyoming. I think we are being tested with winds through all of northern Arizona and southern Utah - getting us ready for Wyoming winds.

This is our official mission picture. We have shared it with family and friends and hope to continue to enjoy many, many more pictures as we embark on this mission journey
